        Underlayment is a thin layer of material that is installed between floor boards and the sub floor during a flooring installation. Depending on the flooring material you choose, underlay could be used to improve comfort underfoot and insulate against sound, moisture and heat. In some cases it can also even out minor subfloor imperfections.<br><br> Generally speaking, underlayment is recommended for use with any Click Lock or floating floor, and in some cases even glue or nail down methods. Although we strongly recommend use with Engineered, Laminate, and Bamboo floors, there are other of benefits to using underlay with any wood flooring material that can be floated.
